What makes this oil different
Before you use
Kalonji may add to the effect of blood pressure medicines. One published review reports a larger drop in systolic pressure when Nigella sativa was taken with losartan. If you take blood pressure or diabetes medicines, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using it. Do a patch test before first use.
About this oil
Kalonji ka tel, also sold as black seed oil, pressed slowly from Nigella sativa seeds in a wooden press. It is dark, strong and a little bitter, so a few drops go a long way. Add a few drops to dressings or curd after cooking, or mix it with a carrier oil for skin and hair. One ingredient, settled and filtered, not refined. The 100ml bottle is a small pack to try. Keep it away from heat.
